Fort Leonard Wood history dates back to 1941. Take a drive to these historical locations and snap a photo of the listed object or feature. Leave the photo in the comments on Facebook with the hashtag #FLWhistorytour for a chance to win certificates for exciting activities around Fort Leonard Wood!

The first person to upload photos of all features and objects between May 31 and June 6 wins. *All locations are either outside or on the exterior of the property. 

 

  1. POW stonework at the Old Post Headquarters/Red Cross building (Missouri Avenue, across from GLWACH)
  2. Bench at Veterans Memorial Park (intersection of Missouri Avenue and North Dakota Avenue)
  3. Stained glass window at Soldier Memorial Chapel (intersection of North Dakota Avenue and Iowa Avenue)
  4. Interpretive sign at Countee Hall (Building 2101; intersection of 2nd Street and Replacement Avenue)
  5. BBQ pit at Garlington House (Michigan Avenue behind Candlewood Suites)
  6. Speaking Platform at Gammon Field (Iowa Avenue between Minnesota Avenue and Kansas Avenue)
  7. Nutter Field House arch with date of establishment (Iowa Avenue)
  8. Berlin Wall display outside the B. Mahaffey Museum Complex (Intersection of South Dakota and Nebraska Avenue)
