Lifeguard Class

Want a rewarding career? Join MWR for lifeguarding certification! There is a minimum of 4 students and max of 10. Participants must attend all classes for certification. These classes are open to the public, ages 15 1/2 and up.

February 2 will be the date of the pretest. Class candidates must pass this test to continue with the classes that will be held on February 3, 4, 10 & 11.

Candidates must swim 300 yards continuously, using strokes in the following order: 100 yards of front crawl using rhythmic breathing and stabalization, propellant kick. 100 yards of breaststroke using a pull, breathe, kick, guide sequence, 100 yards of either front crawl or breaststroke or a combination. Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of 10-14 feet, retrieve an object, return to surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point and exit water within 1 minute 40 seconds.
